Francisco The Man preview debut album with new ‘It’s Not Your Fault’ track.
Don’t get any big ideas - there’s nothing stopping this LA group’s ascent.
LA force Francisco the Man have pencilled in a January 2015 release date for their debut album ‘Loose Ends’, meaning the next three speculative months can be spared of ‘Sound of…’ chatter - instead, just focus on how much of a forthright force this outfit’s first work is going to be.
Following the rude awakening that was ‘Progress’, the Scotty Cantino-led group are cementing their fast-rising status with ‘It’s Not Your Fault’. Spending precisely half a second faffing around, they waste zero time in chugging out their snarling, sarc-encrusted take on punk.
Getting by on a loose, stretched-out single note guitar line, Cantino brings the group to boiling point with a chant of “I’m always looking at the wrong thing” - seems like an odd observation, given just how firmly Francisco The Man have their sights set on being one of next year’s biggest breakthroughs.
‘Loose Ends’ is out 19th January 2015 on Fat Possum.
