Future Islands to release ‘The Chase’ single for Record Store Day
Track was mastered direct to vinyl at London’s Abbey Road Studios.
Last month, Future Islands’ 4AD label shared a picture showing the group outside London’s Abbey Road Studios, where they’d been recording material in between a manic world tour.
The result of that Abbey Road session is coming out sooner than expected - the Baltimore band are putting out new single ‘The Chase’ this Saturday, 18th April. It was recorded direct to vinyl at Studio Three.
‘The Chase’ will get its first play between 7 and 10am on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6 Music show - it’s their first new material since 2014 breakthrough album ‘Singles’.
Record shops are being asked to ‘pitch’ for the single - Abbey Road will be servicing physical copies to on UK shop, and the studios’ Twitter account will be revealing details on how to apply.
Watch Future Islands debut ‘The Chase’ at London Roundhouse.
