Genesis Owusu releases new single ‘Tied Up!’

Critically acclaimed Ghanaian-Australian artist Genesis Owusu has shared his latest single, ‘Tied Up!’, taken from his upcoming sophomore album ‘STRUGGLER’. The track features bouncing, funk-laden beats and powerful bars that explore identity and self-concept in an unsettling, unsympathetic world.

Produced by Sol Was (Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’) and Henry Was (Justin Jay, Thumpasaurus), it follows on from the record’s lead single ‘Leaving The Light’, and gives another taste of what to expect from Genesis’ first album since 2021’s ‘Smiling with No Teeth’. ‘Tied Up!’ also arrives alongside a music video directed by visual artist Lisa Reihana, which sees Genesis don boxing garb to square up to his demons.

Genesis Owusu will play a handful of UK/European dates to mark the record’s release, including a headline show at London’s Heaven; tickets are on sale now.
