Ghostpoet announces new record ‘Shedding Skin’

The follow-up to 2013’s ‘Some Say I So I Say Light’ gets released this March.

Ghostpoet has announced plans to release his brand new album later this year. ‘Shedding Skin’, the follow-up to his 2013 effort ‘Some Say I So I Say Light’, will be released on 2nd March through Play It Again Sam.

News of Obaro Ejimiwe’s third full-length also comes with a first taste of what to expect from the album, in the form of ‘Off Peak Dreams’, its opening track. First played on Zane Lowe’s show on Radio 1 last night, it’s a warm and intimate offering that sets the scene for the record. The track also sees Ejimiwe move into previously unchartered (for him, at least) territory, with the whole album following a more classic guitar-bass-drums structure for the first time.

There’s a slew of guests set to appear on the record - which was recorded with his current touring band Joe Newman, John Calvert and John Blease - too, including the likes of Nadine Shah, Lucy Rose and Maximo Park’s Paul Smith.

The tracklisting for ‘Shedding Skin’ is as follows.

Off Peak Dreams
X Marks The Spot
Be Right Back, Moving House
Shedding Skin
Yes, I Helped You Pack
That Ring Down The Drain Kind Of Feeling
Sorry My Love, It’s You Not Me
Better Not Butter
The Pleasure In Pleather
Nothing In The Way
