Gia Ford shares haunting new single ‘Earth Return’
Her headline tour of the UK kicks off next week.

Sheffield alt-pop auteur Gia Ford is back with ‘Earth Return’, her first new track since the release of debut album ‘Transparent Things’ in September.
Evocative and eerily beautiful, the single was recorded during the same sessions as the rest of ‘Transparent Things’, and explores notions of place, belonging, and the passage of time with tenderness and depth. Of the new cut, Gia has shared that it was “born out of the desire to be in your most loved place when you die.”
Continuing, she explains: “For me, that’s around where my grandparents lived, in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire, whenever I’m there I feel at ease with everything; as if, I died there right then, it’d be the right thing, and that my spirit would be among my family and even the spirits of versions of me, me as a child, running around there.”
The track also arrives just before Gia embarks on a headline tour of the UK in support of ‘Transparent Things’; find out where you can catch her live this month - and hear ‘Earth Return’ - below.
