Girl Band To Headline DIY Stage At Great Escape Festival 2014
DIY’s heading to Brighton this May for one of the UK’s best new music festivals.

This May, hordes of excitable punters and industry types head down to Brighton for a weekend of sun, sea, schmoozing and most importantly bands.
2014’s line-up sees These New Puritans play their last ever show as a septet and Kelis bringing gluttonous portions of ‘Food’ to the seaside. There’s also Wild Beasts, Big Ups, Albert Hammond Jr. and Future Islands - all flocking down for one of the year’s most exciting UK new music festivals.
DIY’s getting involved, and we’re delighted to announce details of our stage. Headliners arrive in the form of Girl Band, a colossal Dublin-based force capable of channelling the maddening noise of HEALTH and the melodic knowhow of Liars. It’s a terrifying prospect, making Girl Band one of the go-to acts at this year’s Great Escape.
Joining them is Transgressive-signed newcomers Blaenavon, who last year released the superb ‘Koso’ EP.
Finland is invading the festival with an endless stream of local acts this year, and we’re hosting a set from four-piece Satellite Stories. Promising London-based group Lovepark and Powder Blue complete the bill.
Stage times and details can be found below. Great Escape 2014 takes place in Brighton on 8th-10th May, in venues across the city. Buy tickets here.
