Girls Aloud announce official release of ‘I’ll Stand By You (Sarah’s Version)’ for BBC Children In Need
Their 2004 hit has been re-imagined to feature the late Sarah Harding on lead vocals throughout.

Girls Aloud have confirmed that they’ll be sharing a new version of their beloved song ‘I’ll Stand By You’ in support of this year’s BBC Children In Need, featuring their late member Sarah Harding as lead vocalist.
The track was originally released by The Pretenders, before Girls Aloud covered it in 2004 as that year’s official Children In Need single, and it spent then two weeks at No.1 on the UK Singles Chart before becoming a fan-favourite part of Girls Aloud’s live setlist.
Now, 20 years later, the group are set to honour Sarah (who sadly passed away in 2021) with ‘I’ll Stand By You (Sarah’s Version)’ - a re-working with her on lead vocals, made from archive material that the rest of Girls Aloud discovered when preparing for their sell-out arena tour earlier this year (on which the group debuted this new version).
‘I’ll Stand By You (Sarah’s Version)’ will be released on 15th November; in the meantime, you can revisit Girls Aloud’s 2004 hit below.
