Grimes has been working with Jack Antonoff

Fun.’s Jack Antonoff has confirmed that he’s been working with Grimes on new material.

Co-writer of Taylor Swift’s CHVRCHES-channelling ‘Out of the Woods’, Antonoff explained in a recent interview with The Daily Beast that it’s “two of us in a room having a really good time.” Both musicians previously worked together for Bleachers’ ‘Take Me Away’.

“I’ve done these sessions where they throw a bunch of writers together and have a reference for what they want to do, and it’s factory-farming bullshit. But anytime I work with Taylor or Tegan and Sara or Sara Bareilles or anyone I’m working with right now — I was with Grimes yesterday, who I love — it’s just the two of us in a room having a really good time. Or a really emotional time. We’re throwing around ideas and sounds so that the result is 1 + 1 = more than 2. That’s why it’s really cool to collaborate,” he elaborated.

Grimes’ follow-up to ‘Visions’ was reportedly scrapped at the beginning of 2014. Recent single ‘Go’ has acted as an intermediary, despite initial reports that Claire Boucher scrapped the record because of a mixed reaction to ‘Go’.

Recently, Grimes posted photos of herself in the studio with Lizzo. A new LP is expected for early 2015.
