Grimes takes on deserts, space and alien life forms in ‘Go’ video

Grimes has unveiled the monstrous, ultra-conceptual new video for her Blood Diamonds-featuring ‘Go’ single, and it’s been worth the wait.

The video was initially previewed last week in the form of a 36 second trailer - it promised otherworldly-looking costumes, deserts, swords, alien life forms, neon-lit dancing - pretty much everything.

Claire Boucher has been whittling away the hours to put the video together. Earlier this month she tweeted, “I’ve literally got a callous on my butt from sitting down editing 20 hrs a day for a week strait haha, i hope its not permanent.”

It’s self-directed alongside Grimes’ brother, Mac.

‘Go’ was originally written for Rihanna by Boucher and Blood Diamonds, but it’s since serving as the first single to emerge since Grimes’ 2012 LP ‘Visions’. A follow-up is currently being worked on - release dates and further details have yet to be confirmed.

Her only upcoming live date is this year’s Made in America festival, Philadelphia, 29th-31st August.
