Guided By Voices, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart For CBGBs Festival

The festival will play host to over 300 bands in 30 different venues all over New York City.

CBGBs have announced plans for the first annual festivals in their honour, and it looks as though the likes of Guided By Voices, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and Cloud Nothings will all appear.

The festival - mirroring events such as SXSW and CMJ - will play host to over 300 bands in 30 different venues all over New York City, and will take place from the 5th to the 8th July.

Taking place in venues ranging from Webster Hall, to the Trash Bar in Williamsburg, other acts set to appear include The Cro-Mags, Vision of Disorder and Sick of It All, alongside New York Dolls’ David Johansen, Craig Finn, D Generation, Willie Nile, and The Baseball Project.

The festival is being set up by the investors who bought the CBGB brand after the original venue was closed in 2006. It is hoped that, following the festival, a new venue sharing the same name will open.
