GUM (Jay Watson of Pond and Tame Impala) announces new album ‘Flash in the Pan’

They’re all at the solo lark, these lads from Pond and Tame Impala. So far this year Cameron Avery and Nicolas Allbrook have both announced lone releases, and now Jay Watson is jumping on the bandwagon. He’s releasing a new album under his GUM moniker.

GUM’s third self-produced album ‘Flash In The Pan’ is out on November 11th - as in, yep, next Friday. He doesn’t hang about, does he?

Along with the surprise news, Jay’s also shared the first musical preview - ‘Gemini’.“ ‘Gemini’ is the first song I recorded for the album, and probably the most immediate,” he says of the track. “I’m not really a fan of star signs. It’s kind of a song about people pinning stuff happening in their lives on things like star signs and religion. I am a Gemini though, so there’s the bipolar/duality thing in there is as well.”
