Gwenno wins Welsh Music Prize with ‘Y Dydd Olaf’

Gwenno has won the Welsh Music Prize 2015 for her debut album, ‘Y Dydd Olaf’.

The Cardiff musician - real name Gwenno Saunders - also won the Welsh Language Album of the Year earlier this year. The album came out on Heavenly Recordings, after an initial release on local label Peski Records.

‘Y Dydd Olaf’ topped a shortlist of fifteen, also containing last year’s winner Joanna Gruesome (‘Weird Sister’), H. Hawklike (‘The Pink of Condition’) and Catfish and the Bottlemen (‘The Balcony’).
