Hear James Blake debut ‘Building It Still’ album on Radio 1 Residency
Shuffling new track gained its first play last night.
James Blake’s Radio 1 Residencies continue to be a go-to source for exclusives (and giggly in-jokes, for that matter).
On his latest, October Residency, the Mercury Prize winning producer debuted a brand new track of his own, ‘Building It Still’.
The track spans three minutes, bringing together distant bass wobbles and a disjointed piano line that shuffles into gear before scattering its parts, then repeating.
Alongside ‘Building It Still’, Blake played ‘200 Press’, which he debuted last month. Previous Residencies on Radio 1 have given first plays to the likes of Jamie xx and Airhead, often played under different names so as to be dug up by investigative listeners.
