Hear James Murphy’s cover of David Bowie’s ‘Golden Years’

LCD man brings out the xylophone for a simple, ambient rendition.

James Murphy has covered David Bowie’s ‘Golden Years’ as part of his score for Noah Baumbach’s new film, ‘While We’re Young’.

Within the soundtrack, the LCD man is using both Bowie’s original and his own, new cover of the track. The latter is streaming below, a minimal xylophone edit that keeps things perfectly constrained.

It links up with ‘We Used to Dance’, another ambient piece running counter to Murphy’s customary, DFA-stamped disco punch.

The full soundtrack is out 24th March via Milan Records, with the film - starring Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts - out the same week in US theatres on 27th March.
