Hot Dreams bring a bit of warmth to the capital

This band deal in the sort of soaring textural richness peddled by Grizzly Bear.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Hot Dreams.

Despite hailing from London - currently a giant grey puddle of icy chill and occasional soggy sleet - Hot Dreams sound like the kind of band that could hail from the searing hot bushland.

With a soaring textural richness that gives nods in the directions of Grizzly Bear and Slowdive, their newest track ‘Another Night’ gently mixes rolling drums and a humming foundation, Kai Fennell’s distinctive vocal leading the charge.

“’Another Night’ is [about] acceptance that friends are like any other serious relationship, and experiences ups and downs. If the good times mean enough to you, then it’s worth holding onto,” says the band’s Cameron Fyall of the song.

We’re premiering ‘Another Night’ as today’s Neu Pick. Listen below.
