Hyde & Beast return with ‘Blue’
It’s the first new material from the duo since 2011’s ‘Slow Down’.
Hyde & Beast - that’s the duo featuring The Futureheads’ drummer Dave Hyde and ex-Golden Virgin Neil Bassett - have returned with their first new material since the release of debut album, ‘Slow Down’, back in 2011.
‘Blue’, which has been made available to stream for a limited time, comes before a series of local live dates - stretching from Stockton to Middlesbrough via Sunderland and, erm, South Tyneside. Not looking to rack up many air miles, then.
“We have just released an album track from our forthcoming second LP which you can download for free,” wrote Neil on the band’s blog. “The song is called “Blue” and its already been labelled by the press as “stomping”, “clattering”, “groovy” and “Glammy”. We like all of these.
Anyways, we hope you like it.”
Those live dates are:
JULY
27 Stockton Weekender
AUGUST
9 Split Festival, Sunderland
30 Bernicia Festival, South Tyneside
SEPTEMBER
27 Middlesbrough Live
News from the pair about their second album is expected “very soon”.
