I Was A Cub Scout Ready Themselves For London Live Return
Will Bowerman discusses his and Todd Marriott’s reunion ahead of a London Borderline date.

Tomorrow sees the live return of I Was A Cub Scout, half a decade after they announced their split.
Citing “countless problems” to blame, the Lincolnshire synth pop duo’s career spanned all of two years, because, at the end of the day, no amount of critical acclaim can solve internal issues.
After the split, frontman Todd Marriott stepped out of the spotlight, while drummer Will Bowerman went on to form instrumental rock outfit Brontide, perform with La Roux and Summer Camp, and team up with members of Bloc Party and The Automatic in Young Legionnaire.
‘“It was bizarre,” starts Bowerman, when questioned on how the pair ended up coming back together.
“A couple of years ago we stopped talking because we just didn’t like each other any more. We were growing up: I was nineteen, he was seventeen. We were just angry teenagers and it’s just what happened. So, we grew apart and I got on with everything that I was doing in my life, and he got on with his. Then, recently I found out that he had a baby, and I thought I would email. So, we got back in touch again. We’re in a much better place now for the two of us to start a friendship.’
I Was A Cub Scout play London’s Borderline tonight (14th September).
