Iggy Azalea breaks U.S. chart record, equalling The Beatles

She’s so ‘Fancy’ - you already know. But Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea’s outdone even her own chart-bothering standards by breaking a record most famously matched by The Beatles.

Azalea currently holds both the #1 and #2 spot in the U.S Billboard charts. The songs in question are a guest spot on Ariana Grande’s ‘ ProblemCharli XCX.

Previous artists to achieve the same include The Beatles, who in 1964 hit both spots with ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’ and ‘She Loves You’. Other artists include Elvis (1958) and Akon (yep, him - 2006 and 2007). Pharrell was the most recent artist to have hit the big 1, 2. Iggy Azalea is just the third female artist to achieve the feat, with Mariah Carey and Ashanti coming before.

‘Fancy’ currently sits at #14 in the UK top 40, having spent 7 weeks in the chart.
