Listen: James Blake Announces New Album ‘Overgrown’ With New Single ‘Retrograde’

Two years on from his debut album, James Blake is back with a new full length and a first cut from it is set to be premiered tonight.

Second LP ‘Overgrown’ is described by a press release as ‘an incredible album that sees James growing as a singer and songwriter while at the same time returning to the brain melting electronic perfection of his early releases on Hemlock and Hessle, moving way beyond any post-dubstep pigeonholes to include stunning reinterpretations of both hip-hop and house.’ It’s set for release on April 6th.

Before that, though, we’ll get the first taster of the record - ‘Retrograde’. Set to get its first spin tonight (7th February) on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio One show at 7:30pm, it’ll be available to stream online shortly afterwards.

To support all of this, Blake is set to play a one off date at London’s ICA on February 26th. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am. After that he’ll head out on a North American tour. The dates for that read:
