James Blake’s 1-800 DINOSAUR didn’t play a scheduled London show last night
An elaborate joke? “Impromptu 3 date” run didn’t end up stopping in the capital.
Unless the sets secretly took place in a Brixton chicken shop while nobody noticed, it looks like James Blake’s 1-800 DINOSAUR didn’t actually play the third and final date of their “impromptu” DJ tour, in London.
The “Measure of Albion” dates promised shows in Bristol, Manchester and London. The first two of these took place - although not without their controversies - but fans were left hanging last night when asking for the whereabouts of an unannounced location.
In the past few days, Blake’s collective have either been playing elaborate jokes on fans, or this has been a shambles of a tour.
Update: Omar Nawaz got in touch with DIY over Twitter to claim that he’d gone to a 1-800-affiliated night at 33 Portland Street, Marylebone. An email circulated round, sent from Ma London, who forwarded the address and details of a filmed event (see below).
