Listen Jamie xx has remixed The xx’s ‘On Hold’
The band’s latest album ‘I See You’ is up for tomorrow’s Mercury Prize.
It’s been a whole nine – yes, nine – months since The xx released their ace third album ‘I See You’.
In that time they’ve basically conquered all of the festivals you can think of, including at their recent headline slot at Bestival, and are up for tomorrow’s Mercury Prize 2017 alongside the likes of The Big Moon, Glass Animals, Glass Animals, Sampha and Stormzy.
In advance of seeing who’s won the coveted gong though, Jamie xx has remixed the band’s very own single ‘On Hold’. It debuted on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show and sees the producer taking his group’s work in a six-minute, more dance-oriented direction, even considering their more up-tempo recent live sets.
Listen to Jamie xx’s remix of ‘On Hold’ below.
