Japandroids detail new album ‘Near To The Wild Heart Of Life’ and share title track

The group’s new album is set for a January 27th release via ANTI-.

Japandroids have offered up details on that new album, and shared the first taster of new music.

‘Near To The Wild Heart Of Life’ is set for a January 27th release via the band’s new home of ANTI- Records. It’s being led by it’s fired up title track - listen below. The track-listing for ‘Near To The Wild Heart Of Life’ is as follows:

1. Near to the Wild Heart of Life
2. North East South West
3. True Love and a Free Life of Free Will
4. I’m Sorry (For Not Finding You Sooner)
5. Arc of Bar
6. Midnight to Morning
7. No Known Drink or Drug
8. In a Body Like a Grave

Speaking to Pitchfork, singer/guitarist Brian Keys hints at a reimagining of Japandroids’ signature, arms-aloft sound for the new record: “With this album, the idea of what intensity means is evolving,” he says. “It doesn’t necessarily mean screaming or jumping around or flailing about or being really loud or playing really fast.”

The single’s also set for a 7” release, backed by a cover of Talking Heads’ ‘Love → Building on Fire’. Check out ‘Near To The Wild Heart Of Life”s artwork below the player.
