Julianna Barwick Announces Sigur Rós Tour Support, Cancels Solo Shows

The links between Julianna Barwick and Sigur Rós are getting closer by the day, so this one’s been coming from a mile off. Alex Somers produced her new record ‘Nepenthe’ (out on Dead Oceans, 19th August), and string collaborators Amiina also feature.

Barwick’s been confirmed as the main support for the Icelandic giants’ forthcoming 2013 tour.

In the process, she’s had to cancel some previously scheduled solo shows. She was expected to headline her own North American dates this September and October.

Posting a message to fans, Julianna was very apologetic:

‘I hope to make it up to all the people and cities and venues who worked so hard on those shows as soon as humanly possible.’
