Kehlani asserts her independence on ‘Do U Dirty’

R&B singer Kehlani is gearing up to release her new album ‘SWEETSEXYSAVAGE’ on 27th January, but you can probably just go ahead and drop the “sweet” part from that title when it comes to her latest single.

Admittedly the beat and melodies are floaty, but on ‘Do U Dirty’ Kehlani is asserting her dominance and independence, and she’s not afraid to let you know it. Even though she’ll “have you all up in your feelings”, she thinks “you should be worried” if anyone gets a bit too attached. Instead, she’ll leave guys “just reminiscing” about all the dirty things they get up to together.

She’s also shared a brief video clip to accompany the new song on Twitter, which looks like it was made with the same graphics from Windows 95. Set in a world where people have TVs for heads, it’s a brief tale of lust, love and violence. It’s just a little bit trippy, too.
