Kele Okereke shares new single ‘Hometown Edge’
The Bloc Party frontman has returned with the first track to be taken from a new solo project.

Fresh from a busy summer of performances with Bloc Party, Kele Okereke has returned with a brand new solo single.
Titled ‘Hometown Edge’, the track comes inspired by a late night adventure he had in London, and doubles as his first solo release since last year’s release, ‘The Flames Pt. 2’. “I realise London has been a constant source of inspiration for me as a songwriter,” Kele explains. “In my writing it’s always been there on the periphery, but it felt right doing something where my love for the city was front and centre. Over the years, life in the capital has shaped who I am and what I am, so it was nice to pay homage to that.”
His new single is also the first taste of a brand new solo project for the Bloc Party frontman, which is due to drop later this year via KOLA Records / !K7.
