Kendrick Lamar promises “aggression and emotion” from new album

Kendrick Lamar has spoken about his forthcoming new LP, the eventual follow-up to 2012 breakthrough ‘Good Kid m.A.A.d City’.

With the new album set to feature production from Dr. Dre, Kendrick is promising a more aggressive and emotional record.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, he explained: “There was a lot left out of good kid — it could have been a 30-track album. There are a few new [songs] that can tie in with what I was talking about.”

No guest MCs are set to feature on the record. “I have so much to say! It’s almost selfish of me,” he joked.

Lamar is a special guest on Flying Lotus’ new ‘You’re Dead’ LP in the form of ‘Never Catch Me’.

The eventual LP is expected for late 2014. Kendrick is set to make his live return at a show in the Bermuda Triangle, 30th October-2nd November, with Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris also scheduled to play.

Update: According to Pulse Music board (via Fact), the PlayIGA site - run by Interscope Records - accidentally shared details of Kendrick’s new single. By those number, ‘(i) (love myself)’ is set to come out on 23rd September at 8am EP.

Artwork for the single can be seen below.
