Kendrick Lamar unveils new single ‘i’
Track is taken from the follow-up to ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’.
Kendrick Lamar has unveiled one of the most hotly-anticipated singles of the year, ‘i’.
It serves as the first taste from the follow-up to 2012’s ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ and gets by on the mantra “I love myself.”
More soul-inclined than anything on the previous LP, it gets by on funk links, positive piano lines and a mantra of “I love myself”.
The song samples the Isley Brothers’ ‘That Lady’ and it comes produced by Rahki.
Kendrick also appears on the new Flying Lotus album for ‘Never Catch Me’.
