Existential crisis
Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Untitled’ “doesn’t exist”
The track was written solely for his Colbert Report performance.
Back in December, Kendrick Lamar - who currently sits pretty at the top of the UK album charts - took to cult US TV show The Colbert Report with a brand new, untitled track.
The song didn’t make album, ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’, and now that record’s producer, Terrace Martin, says not only will it not be released, but it doesn’t exist anywhere outside Comedy Central’s archives.
It was intended to be “just a moment,” Martin, who has also worked with Snoop Dogg, Warren G and Talib Kweli, told Complex. “It don’t even exist nowhere in the world,” he confirmed, “except on the Colbert Report.”
Kendrick Lamar plays Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park in London on 4th July, before returning in August for Reading & Leeds festivals.
