Kevin Devine Reveals Details Of Dual Album Release

Both of his new albums - ‘Bubblegum’ and ‘Bulldozer’ - are due for release of 14th October through Big Scary Monsters.

Kevin Devine has announced plans to return to our ears later this year, by releasing not one, but two albums.

The singer initially unveiled news of his latest musical ventures when he began a Kickstarter campaign back in February of this year. Devine’s goal was to complete two full albums, for release at the same time, one of which was set to be his solo work, with the other being a full band affair.

The results are ‘Bubblegum’ and ‘Bulldozer’. The former stands as his collaboration with the Goddamn Band, as produced by Brand New’s Jesse Lacey, while the latter sees Rob Schnapf take to the wheel of Devine’s solo effort.

‘I’ve made six records. In America they’ve been released on five different labels. It’s a pretty unstable industry…,’ offers Devine, on his choice to set up the original Kickstarter campaign. ‘What’s made it a sustainable and a justifiable career for me has been the audience and their close, passionate connection to the music.’

Both of his new albums are now due for release of 14th October through Big Scary Monsters, and in the meantime, you can hear ‘Private First’ from ‘Bubblegum’ below.

Kevin Devine has also confirmed plans to return to the UK for four live shows next year, as follows.

FEBRUARY 2014
04 The Lexington, London
05 Louisianna, Bristol
06 Soup Kitchen, Manchester
07 Nice n Sleazys, Glasgow
