Kevin Morby confirms “naked” eighth album ‘Little Wide Open’
“This is, without a doubt, the most personal and vulnerable album I’ve ever made.”

Kevin Morby is back with the news that his eighth studio album, ‘Little Wide Open’, will arrive on 15th May via Dead Oceans. Produced by Aaron Dessner, the LP will act as a follow up to 2022’s ‘This Is A Photograph’, and has been described by the indie troubadour as “without a doubt, the most personal and vulnerable album I’ve ever made”.
Continuing, he notes: “Aaron did a heroic job of holding me back from throwing too many tricks at the songs, and letting my stories stand a bit naked. Despite its title this album is in fact, very wide open.”
Featuring contributions from the likes of Dessner, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Katie Gavin (MUNA), Lucinda Williams and more, Kevin’s latest effort is a homage to middle America, set, in his words, “to a backdrop of tangled highways, towns with populations less than 100,000, roadside crosses, a rock and roll romance, coupling butterflies, being an American entertainer, Econoline vans and more.”
Introducing ‘Little Wide Open’ is lead single ‘Javelin’ - a sun-streaked love song bolstered by the vocals of Sylvan Esso’s Amelia Meath, and accompanied by a playful video celebrating the scenic vistas of rural Missouri. Watch it for yourself here:
