Kid Wave shakes it up on ‘Everything Changes’
Lea Emmery’s new one comes before her showcase at SXSW.
Kid Wave – aka the project of Sweden-via-London songwriter
and musician Lea Emmery – has been on tour with The Shins recently and is about
to hit SXSW, but she’s still managed to share a brand new single.
‘Everything Changes’ was co-produced and mixed by Lewis Pesacov
(who has also worked with Best Coast, Fidlar and Deap Vally) in Los Angeles,
where Lea recently relocated, at the start of the year. And it’s a supremely
confident return. Mixing together strident indie riffs with power pop
tendencies, managing to capture that mixed sense of euphoria and melancholy that
can occur when indeed, “everything changes.”
