Lana Lubany unveils new track ‘Expectations’
It’s the latest offering from her forthcoming project ‘The Holy Land’.
Lana Lubany has dropped her new track ‘Expectations’, as taken from her upcoming concept EP ‘The Holy Land’. It follows on from her recent singles ‘On My Way’ and ‘The Snake’, amongst others.
Lubany, an American-Palestinian bilingual alt-pop artist, says her newest single “is about letting go”.
“I had a lot of ups and downs in my journey to where I am right now, and while getting back on my feet was hard, I did it many times and started believing in myself again, finding my lost identity.”
A visualiser for the song has also been shared, which was directed by Sahra Zadat. Lubany says: “I wanted to emulate being comfortably uncomfortable in my bedroom, where I feel the safest and most vulnerable and am unapologetically myself. I have grown a lot by leaving my comfort zone and showing it to the world, and I’m going to keep doing that.” Check it out below.
‘The Hold Land’, Lubany teases, will be a project all about “internal battles”. It’s set for release this Friday 2nd June.
“I wanted to call it ‘The Hold Land’ because I personally ended up finding my identity in my roots, but it could be anybody’s holy land,” she has said. “It can be whatever you find sacred and wherever you end up finding yourself. It’s not about religious symbolism, it’s about a personal journey.”
