Laura Marling shares video for ‘False Hope’
Ahead of her fifth album, ‘Short Movie’, Marling’s first single gets a live and loud run-through.
Ahead of releasing her fifth album ‘Short Movie’, Laura Marling has shared an all new video for ‘False Hope’. Turned up and live, it’s a subtle, looser, reworking of the original single, and stands out as a departure from anything that she’s done before. Eyes cast down in a rehearsal studio, holding an electric guitar (yep, electric) the spotlight shines mainly on Marling, and her creepy, isolated narrative; telling the story of being trapped in New York during Hurricane Sandy.
Marling’s new ‘False Hope’ video comes hot on the heels of another tour announcement. Following a short stint of intimate small-venue shows last month, she’s now set to play four shows at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall as well
as dates in Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester, Cambridge, Southampton,
Dublin and Belfast. Tickets for the new dates go on sale from 10am, Friday 20th February,
with the full tour listed here.
