Marika Hackman recruits Laura Marling to feature on new version of ‘Skin’
The collab marks the tenth anniversary of Marika’s debut album, ‘We Slept At Last’.

Marika Hackman and Laura Marling have teamed up to re-imagine ‘Skin’ - a track that featured on the former’s 2015 debut, ‘We Slept At Last’ - and the results are, unsurprisingly, stunning.
Produced by Marika herself, the duet was created as part of Abbey Road’s annual collaboration with Pitchfork London, and was part-recorded in the iconic studios. It’s the first release from the stalwart singer-songwriter since the arrival of her fourth LP, ‘Big Sigh’, at the beginning of last year; Laura, meanwhile, recently shared her mediations on motherhood and familial legacy in the form of beautiful eighth effort, ‘Patterns In Repeat’.
Marking a decade since her debut in style, Marika is set to perform ‘We Slept At Last’ in full (alongside other tracks from across her discography) with full string arrangements at a sold-out show at London’s Union Chapel this Friday.
Treat yourself to the new version of ‘Skin’ below.
