Leonard Cohen Plots One-Off UK Show

Attendees will witness over three hours of the artist’s classic songs, selected rarities and new tracks.

Leonard Cohen has revealed plans to perform at a one-off UK date this Summer.

Cohen will play at The Hop Farm, Kent in September 2012 - his only UK date of this year.

His stop off in Kent as part of his world tour will take place on Saturday 8th September 2012 and attendees will witness over three hours of the artist’s classic songs, selected rarities and new tracks from album ‘Old Ideas’ at the open air event.

Vince Power said of the announcement, “To get the opportunity to bring Leonard Cohen to the UK for his only appearance this year is a fantastic and humbling achievement. He is one of the undisputed forefathers of modern folk music and has honed his craft for nearly half a century. We’re over the moon he’s decided to join us for what will be a truly memorable experience.”

Tickets will go on sale to fan club members at 9am tomorrow (12th April), with general sale from 9am on Friday (13th April), seated tickets will set you back £85.00, with standing at £65.00.

Hop Farm is also home to Hop Farm Festival that will take place earlier in the year in June 2012, details of its fifth year were announced last month, with Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel and the New Blood Orchestra and Suede each performing UK exclusive sets for the Kent crowd.

The festival takes place from 29th June to 1st July in Paddock Wood, Kent. It looks set to continue its ‘No sponsorship, no branding’ ethos. It prides itself on offering good value for festival-goers and the no booking fee, no camping fee and nocharge for children under 12 policies certainly back this up.

Head of festival Vince Power said: “I am really happy to announce the line-up for Hop Farm 2012. After last years success it’s my opinion that Hop Farm is now well and truly on the UK festival map. Furthermore we have tried to make it the best value festival ticket by having no hidden charges or added extras.”
