Listen: Cathedrals Stream New Track, ‘Harlem’
San Francisco duo rinse out winter blues with a fresh-as-hell second track.
Only hitting the groove on their second track, San Francisco duo Cathedrals have already hit heady heights with the help of new track ‘Harlem’. If Sleigh Bells, Phantogram and Purity Ring all walked into a bar - and yes, let’s pretend there’s a jukebox or a karaoke machine in the same bar - this would be the result.
Brodie Jenkins and Johnny Hwin first collaborated on ‘Unbound’ back in September, mysteriousness backing up their glossy-pop claims. ‘Harlem’ is very much Sleigh Bells with the A/B Machines all shocked and messed up. Brodie’s vocals adopt a see-saw range, with the production ranging from spiky guitar jams to clear-headed trap beats. It’s something special.
