Listen: Coldplay Share Avicii Collaboration ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’

Fans are also being encouraged to scour the UK for lyric books, placed in various libraries across the country.

Up to now, the material on Coldplay’s new album ‘Ghost Stories’ has been a more understated departure from the glowstick-gobbling ‘Mylo Xyloto’. With the big context being frontman Chris Martin’s recent breakup, a collection of sombre songs was on the cards. Until now. Here’s the bonafide banger from ‘Ghost Stories’, with Coldplay parachuting right into the heart of Ibiza.

‘A Sky Full of Stars’ is the band’s collaboration with ridiculously successful producer Avicii. There’s no dubious blending of folk and dubstep to be found here. Just an emotional Coldplay song with a donk on it.

The new song links up with ‘Magic’, ‘Midnight’ and ‘Oceans’.

Coldplay are also launching an elaborate competition where a ticket for their London Royal Albert Hall show (1st July) is hidden within several lyric books scattered around various British libraries. Words are hand-written by Chris Martin, placed in envelopes which are then inserted in ghost story books. Clues as to where to find these lyric sheets are being offered up on Twitter, alongside the hashtag #lyricshunt, which is worth keeping an eye on.

‘Ghost Stories’ is out on 18th May.
