Listen: Fabienne Unveils New Track, ‘City Of Shadows’
Bradford-raised, London-based talent releases her new EP through Super Recordings this month.

The tide is turning. Gloomy skies are visible through barely-opened curtains at least ten minutes earlier than usual, and the sun sets before an onset of perishing winds a little later than it did this time last month. London newcomer Fabienne acknowledged as much in her glowing, red-in-the-face ‘Sunstroke’, taken from new EP ‘City of Shadows’, out 24th March through Super Recordings.
Said EP’s lead, title-track is similarly resolute in heading for blue skies and dripping Soleros. Saying that, it’s a song that touches in with isolation - ‘It’s a long, long ride when you’re riding alone’ - but it eventually finds solace in the bright lights and endless buzz of a big city. ‘I wanna go back where they know my name’ she professes atop a soul-backed chorus more worthy of afternoon festival slots than anything else we’ve heard so far this year.
The Bradford-raised, London-based songwriter is a serious name to watch if this track’s anything to go by. DIY has the first play. Listen below.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
