Listen: Farewell J.R. Previews New EP With ‘Skin Pieces’
Cambridge songwriter releases ‘And Still’ on 21st April via Talking Shop.

‘I am constantly uneasy,’ claims Farewell J.R. on his latest track. But the Cambridge musician’s speciality is managing a certain tension and allowing it to play into his breathless, head-spinning folk. Two opposites cancel each other out, eventually forming a trademark, beautiful approach. It’s served him well up to now.
‘Skin Pieces’ is the musician’s latest track, taken from a newly announced EP ‘and still..’, all lowercase and released through Talking Shop Records on 21st April. It’s definitely his biggest sounding song to date, with fluttering strings and expansive percussion giving a songwriter used to writing from a perspective of loneliness some actual friends for once. It’s all about the full-band, here, which practically resembles an orchestra by the end of ‘Skin Pieces’.
