Listen: Favela Streams ‘Easy Yoke’ Track From New EP

20 year old Leeds producer Favela extends the very definition of ‘producer’, stretching its parts until it encompasses the wild, disparate moods filtering into his second EP, ‘Easy Yoke’.

There’s glitchy, Gold Panda-style beats, a sweeping string section, and the kind of expression-filled vocals that’d lodge themselves into the charts if they were backing a customary EDM-banger.

As it stands, Favela’s been an experimentalist right from the off. His last EP got picked out in a March Neu Bulletin for being a scatterbrained showcase of the newcomer’s potential.

Following on from ‘Sunlight’, ‘Easy Yoke”s title track is a bright-eyed, wondrous journey through rough territory. Each skittering, sharp edge is made to sound like part of the scenery. Favela’s brilliance comes in his ability to make the risky come off as something perfectly suitable.
