Listen: Happyness Share ‘Leave The Party’ From Debut Album
London trio Happyness release ‘Weird Little Birthday’ this June.

South East London group Happyness are (apparently) readying an album based around a story where an unfortunate individual shares a birthday with Jesus Christ. With the latter getting everybody’s attention, this lonesome soul rebels by going on a vicious rampage. Sounds intense, and it’s a neat contrast to the three-piece’s sedated take on things, as evidence by ‘Leave the Party’.
The latest track to arrive from ‘Weird Little Birthday’, it sees the group filtering a lazy-day US college rock vibe into a sweet-natured pop song, complete with customary, downtrodden lyrics like ‘If you don’t ever call me / Baby it won’t even haunt me.’ Forget about the murderous rhyming couplet in the chorus and consider this a jolly old occasion.
See Happyness launch their album at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters on 17th June.
