Listen: Josef Salvat Unveils ‘Hustler’ Track
The London songwriter follows up ‘This Life’ with another frank, grim-narrative track.

This guy gets to the point. Josef Salvat’s only two songs into a career, but both ‘This Life’ and follow-up ‘Hustler’ are frank, grim tales that detail a guy at his lowest ebb.
The opening verse of ‘Hustler’ details a bad nose, nasty bed sheets and having the ‘heart of a hustler.’ It’s not tricky to pick up on what he’s getting at.
‘Josef Salvat is endearing and exciting’, we declared in a Neu profile last month. And while many might turn their head from the off after hearing songs as streamlined and borderline anthemic as these, there’s something strangely masochistic about hearing this guy spill his soul.
