Listen: Panda Bear Composes Music For Wife’s Clothing Line

Noah Lennox’s first new music in three years appears in an unlikely place.

Noah Lennox aka Panda Bear has shared new solo music for the first time in three years. New material appears in an unlikely place: In a promotional campaign for his wife Fernanda Pereira’s clothing line.

A five-minute piece has been constructed to appear alongside a surreal promotion for Pereira’s spring/summer 2014 collection, titled ‘DESPERSONALIZAÇÃO / the stretch of life.’

Director Joana Linda gave a very arty description for the piece, calling it ‘a reflection of contrasting experiences, (where) depersonalization is a sentimental moment of transformation, and where the actual abstraction causes disruptions.’

The music itself shows little resemblance to Panda Bear’s previous solo record ‘Tomboy’. Delving into tribal rhythms and ghostly bass notes, the bizarre clip is met up with some fittingly odd music, arguably the most abstract Lennox has ever put his name to.
