New London festival LIDO confirms Jamie xx as first 2025 headliner
The Victoria Park series will boast lineups curated by the headliners themselves, with a strong focus on emerging artists.
LIDO Festival - the newest addition to London’s Summer events calendar - has announced none other than Jamie xx as its inaugural headliner.
Taking its name from its location of Lido Field (in the capital’s Victoria Park, which also hosts All Points East), the new festival will run over two weekends in June next year, with Jamie xx topping the bill on Saturday 7th June 2025.
LIDO promises to platform some of music’s most contemporary headline acts, whilst also working closely with said headliners to carefully curate bespoke line-ups that reflect their enduring influence and spotlight emerging artists. LIDO also aims to focus on sustainability and community development, and has partnered with local initiatives in East London to ensure its positive impact extends beyond the music.
Joining The xx frontman turned solo star (whose latest album ‘In Waves’ arrived last month) will be a frankly stacked roster of other exciting names, including experimental boundary-breaker Arca, Mercury Prize winner Sampha, fellow xx member and joyous DJ Romy, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, and many more.
Plus, for this show only, LIDO will also feature ‘The Floor’ - a bespoke stage headlined by DJ Harvey that’s inspired by Jamie’s intimate club residences in London, New York, and LA (which featured guest appearances from the likes of Charli xcx, Jockstrap, and more).
“It’s always an exciting prospect playing in my home town,” Jamie has said of the booking. “Having done The Floor and Alexandra Palace this year, it’s time for something else! I’m really looking forward to headlining Victoria Park, curating my own day festival and performing alongside my favourite artists.”
The full line-up of Jamie xx’s headline day at LIDO is coming soon, as is more information on other headlines, so watch this space! In the meantime, get ready to nab tickets for the festival’s first-ever edition; they go on general sale at 10am on Friday 1st November here.
