Listen: Phoria Stream New ‘Emanate’ Single
Brighton five-piece disassemble the standard pop song with a hugely ambitious new track.

Brighton-based five-piece Phoria scored one of the songs of 2013 with ‘Red’. Now they’re following it up through ‘Emanate’, a track from the forthcoming new EP ‘Display’.
Whereas ‘Red’ stayed resolute to floor-shaking sparseness, ‘Emanate’ is a more slick, strictly-defined track, bubbling up with handclap samples and misty vocals, layered in unison. If a conventional pop song was disassembled to its absolute, minute parts, jumbled up and given a new space, it might sound like this.
‘Display’ is out in June via X Novo.
