Listen: Shura Streams Debut Track, ‘Touch’
London newcomer uses the best bits of Blood Orange and Beyonce for a stunning debut.

There’s something about Shura. Channelling Blood Orange’s New York sunset vibes and maybe even a slight snippet of Beyonce’s new record, the Londoner eventually ends up with something smooth-as-silk on her debut track ‘Touch’.
Sometimes this silky aesthetic distracts from what’s in plain terms a massive pop song. There’s history to Shura’s story (‘I can’t believe that it’s been three years’), as storytelling steals the show atop playful synth parts and the singer’s clear-as-daylight vocals. Free of fads, it makes for an honest debut, one capable of very big things indeed.
Shura is a shura-fire bet for success, basically (sorry).
