Listen: Slayer Announce New Album, Stream ‘Implode’ Free Download
New album is the band’s first in twenty years not to be released on Rick Rubin’s label.

Metal giants Slayer have announced plans to return with their first album in five years.
The follow-up to 2009 LP ‘World Painted Blood’ is coming out later this year - it’ll be the first in twenty years not to be released via Rick Rubin’s American Recordings label. Tom Araya from the band asserts that ‘Rick played a huge role in our career,’ but he continues by saying: ‘[…] today is a new day, record companies don’t play the kind of role they once did, and we really like the idea of going out on our own, connecting directly with our fans, and Nuclear Blast is fired up about taking on that challenge with us.”
