Listen: Tev’n Streams Debut Track, ‘Rose Petal’

Mission statements don’t come much clearer than ‘Rose Petal’, the debut track from North Londoner Tev’n Kennedy, who’s just going by Tev’n when it comes to the music side of things.

The repeated refrain from Kennedy is that ‘I’ve got all this love to give.’ And he expresses his loved-up intentions through sharp, transparent beats and the kind of minimalism even Brian Eno might consider a ‘touch risky’.

Once it blooms into a jerky R&B mini-triumph, it sets the stall ridiculously high. Lovey dovey Tev’n’s definitely one to keep an eye on, especially if you’re in desperate need a hug.
