Listen to Flying Lotus’ first Radio 1 Residency takeover

FlyLo FM includes a new Thundercat track and a chat with Herbie Hancock.

Flying Lotus took to the seat for BBC Radio 1’s Residency show last night. Steven Ellison took over the airwaves for two hours on Thursday evening, after Skream and Hannah Wants kicked off the 2015 series last week. Kaytranada will take over the show for this evening’s show.

During the two hour slot, Flying Lotus shared alternative versions of ‘Never Catch Me’, ‘Theme’ and ‘Post Requisite’, all of which are taken from the recent album ‘You’re Dead’. There were also spins of a new Thundercat track (‘You’re Dead’), Rae Sremmurd, and a Jeremiah Jae remix of Run The Jewels, which was part of a mixtape on the show. There also featured a chat with jazz legend Herbie Hancock who featured on ‘You’re Dead!’. Hancock and Ellison discussed exploration and creativity in art and production.
