Listen To Sampha, Jamie XX Showcase New Songs In Maida Vale Session

Radio 1 aired out a two hour special on XL offshoot Young Turks last night, presented by Benji B and featuring performances from the label’s brilliant roster, including Pional and Sampha.

The show featured interviews with Caius Parson about the label’s beginnings, alongside chats with recent signing Koreless, who also performed alongside a string quintet.

Sampha reffered to a Wurlitzer and a grand piano for a performance of three tracks, including the first airing of new song ‘Courtesy’. He also played ‘Happens’.

The 2 hour broadcast ends with Jamie xx showcasing material from artists on emerging labels Hivern Discs and Whities. A previously untitled Jamie xx track also gained its first radio play. Titled ‘Sleep Sound’, the producer said it’s expected to get a physical release in January 2014.
